Avenue #FashBash
Today I was in and attended the Avenue fashion show at our Yonkers store. Something that originally was just me volunteering at work to help out the team if they needed an extra model, turned into something so great! (Yes I'm lucky enough to work for Avenue) First off cudo's to the whole entire Avenue team for pulling off an amazing event.
It's been quite a long time since I've walked in a fashion show. College was probably the last time I actually walked in a fashion show and I think I was actually the designer that time and not the model...needless to say it's been a while. I honestly was very nervous. But once I saw all these women model with confidence it just reassured me to do the same.
I can't say enough what an amazing experience. Going to events like these are starting to make me realize that I really enjoy being around women like me. I don't think I ever really realized what it's like seeing similar women of my size or larger and didn't realize that was something I was lacking! Although I didn't get to really talk to all the other bloggers like I would have liked too, not sure if it was my nerves or not really even knowing what to say without fanning out looking silly, but I did meet some amazing women like Meaghan of Little Lime Dress, Madeline of Plus Jones and Plus Model Mag, Nanthale of N.E.C Style, Sarah of Curvlily. I even got to meet Miss Plus America Rachel, who fun fact is also an Avenue employee! Even better was that I was able to walk with another co-worker Lisa pictured above she just made me feel so comfortable and an amazing support. Thanks Lisa...please check her blog for all your Disney needs.
Last but certainly not least is the dress I wore from our sister brand Loralette, Puff Print Daisy Skater Dress. It fit perfect and was so flattering and comfortable. Definitely going to be purchasing this one to add to my summer wardrobe.
